Subject: Stabbing Arrests

A Saskatoon woman and a Paynton, SK man have appeared in Provincial Court charged in connection with two separate stabbing incidents that occurred overnight.
The first happened just after 8:30 when officers were called to the 300 block of Johnson Crescent. A male was found suffering from a stab wound to the back. He was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries. A 34 year old woman was arrested a short time later in the 3600 block of Diefenbaker Drive. She was charged with one count of assault with a weapon and released on an undertaking. She is scheduled to appear in court July 4th, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. (court info # 42401506)
The second incident occurred in the 300 block of Avenue Q South just after 4:00 this morning. Police were called to assist MD Ambulance and found a woman suffering from stab wounds to her abdomen. She was taken to hospital with what were believed to be non life-threatening injuries. A male suspect was found a short time later in the 300 block of Avenue P South. He was charged with one count of assault with a weapon, and threats to cause death or bodily harm. He is scheduled to appear in court this afternoon. (court info # 36875228)
