Three males and one female will appear in Provincial Court on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 following a five month investigation by the Saskatoon Integrated Drug Unit (SIDU).
Project Falexia began in November 2011, and targeted cocaine trafficking in the city. At approximately midnight, April 9, 2012 members of SIDU, with assistance from the Emergency Response Team and Patrol, executed search warrants at a home in the 1900 block of Broadway Avenue and at a storage facility in the 900 block of 1st Avenue North. Inside they found; 1.3 kilograms of cocaine, 352 tablets of MDMA (ecstasy), 24 grams of powdered MDMA, 54 grams of methamphetamine, tablets of hydromorphone, morphine, and methylphenidate (Ritalin), 4 vials of steroids, approximately $14,000 in cash, 14 cell phones, 3 safes and approximately 260 rounds of handgun ammunition.
Prior to the search at the home on Broadway two males exited the home and drove off in a vehicle. Police conducted a high risk traffic stop and arrested the two males. A loaded .40 calibre handgun was found inside the vehicle.
A total of 36 criminal charges have been laid. Two Saskatoon males (ages 35 and 29) and a Saskatoon female (age 24) are facing a number of drug and weapons charges. Another Saskatoon male (age 46) is facing firearms and weapons charges.
