A 33 year old man is now facing charges relating to an assault and disturbance which occurred yesterday morning.
On Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at approximately 10:35 a.m. officers responded to the 1900 block of Munroe Avenue South to a report of an assault. A man had entered a church there and confronted two females working inside. He punched one of the women in the arm and damaged the office before leaving. The suspect also damaged a gate at a neighbouring yard before officers located him a short distance away. He was apprehended without further incident.
The victim refused medical attention at the scene.
The 33 year old man has been charged with Common Assault, Causing a Disturbance by being Intoxicated, Mischief and Possession of Break In Instruments / Tools. An unrelated criminal warrant was also executed.
The 33 year old man has been remanded and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court on Friday, May 18, 2012, at 10:30 a.m.
