At approximately 6:25 p.m., February 4, 2012 the Saskatoon Police Service, Fire and Protective Services, and MD Ambulance attended a single vehicle collision at the corner of 2nd Avenue North and 25th Street West. Witnesses saw the lone occupant of a mini van leave the scene after hitting a light post. A short foot pursuit by police members led to the arrest of a 23 year old male.

The driver was arrested for Impaired Driving, Refuse Breathe Demand, Breach of Conditions Sentence Order, Breach of Undertaking, and Drive While Suspended. He sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by MD Ambulance.

City crews were called to attend to the damaged light standard.

The accused will appear before a Justice tomorrow morning.
